154982826 Ways You Can Help Storm Victims On The East Coast

We’ve all been stunned by the footage coming from New York, New Jersey, and the East Coast as the remnants of Sandy continue to fuel storms across the East Coast and Canada. While it seems far removed from Texas, many of us have friends and family affected by power outages and flooding.

If you are wondering what you can do here to help our brothers and sisters on the East Coast, check out these ways you can lend a hand:

Donate funds. Text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10 to the American Red Cross. You can also donate online at redcross.org or by phone 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767)

Donate blood. According to the Red Cross, Hurricane Sandy forced the cancellation of over 100 blood drives. Go to redcrossblood.org to find out where you can go to give blood. A little bit of your life could save a whole bunch of lives.

Volunteer. Give some of your time. 96% of the Red Cross‘ workforce is comprised of volunteers. Help set up a blood drive or use your social media to get the word out about how to help or donate.

There isn’t much we can do hands-on from here in Texas, but giving money, blood, and time to organizations like the Red Cross will help support a great support system that is on the ground on in the storm-ravaged areas.

Here are some other ways to help as well
