Earlier this week, Donald Trump announced that he would donate $5 million to President Barack Obama’s charity if he would release his College and Passport records.
Trump went on The Late Show with David Letterman last night to explain himself.
When Letterman asked, “What did I miss in this? Why do we want to see President Obama’s college records?”
Trump responded, “Transparency. Does that make sense to anybody? Seriously, transparency.”
The Apprentice host then continued that he would be more than happy to cut a check, and is willing to increase his offer. “I assume and I hope that his records are perfect. He picks up $5 million for charity. Five million. From me. Immediate. Check written. I’d even go more to be honest; there, you have a scoop.”
