Barbara Streisand Hopes Romney Never Gets To ‘Sesame Street’ or White House
Barbra Streisand has never been one to keep her political opinions to herself.
The staunch Democrat took jabs at Republican presidential candidate, Mitt Romney at a recent show in Brooklyn, New York.
When a fan asked for her opinion on Romney’s promise to fire Big Bird, “The Way We Were” singer certainly didn’t hold back.
“I love Big Bird and I hope no one tells Romney how to get to Sesame Street or Pennsylvania Avenue,” she told the crowd. “He’s a good actor. He’s a good actor. A chameleon.”
Earlier this month, Barbra wrote a piece on the first presidential debate for the Huffington Post, calling Romney a “bald-faced liar”
“Having lived through the Al Gore debate where a couple of tiny exaggerations set off a media firestorm whether Al Gore was a serial liar, if the media doesn’t nail Romney on his BS, it would be a moment of shame,” she wrote.
In the same piece, she compares electing Romney to giving President George W. Bush a third-term.
“The question voters need to ask themselves when they walk into the voting booth on November 6th is: “Will the country be better off returning to the policies of George W. Bush’s Administration?”
Babs was never a fan of Bush, even calling him “an alien sent here to destroy the Earth.” She played nice when receiving the Kennedy Honors from the Republican President in 2008, but later admitted she would have enjoyed it more if it was given to her by then recently elected President Barack Obama or President Bill Clinton.
At the show, Babs also gave her support for President Obama, who she’s donated more than $10,000 over the course of this election, without actually ever saying his name.
“I’m not going to tell you who to vote for, but … if you believe in affordable health care and women’s rights … if you want to move forward and not back, you know who to vote for,” she said.
I think we all know who she’ll be cheering on at tomorrow night’s Presidential debate at 9 pm EST.
