Texas Chute Out Imploded At Six Flags Over Texas
Wednesday at 2PM, fans gathered to pay their final respects to the legendary Six Flags ride, the Texas Chute Out. The 200-foot tower was imploded Wednesday afternoon to make room for the new 400-foot Texas SkyScreamer.
Engineers weakened the tower of the Texas Chute Out so that it would fall directly into the area previously occupied by the dismantled Flashback, which was also closed this year.
The Texas Chute Out was opened in 1976. The parachute benches would carry riders to the top of the 200-foot tower before gently drifting back to earth on a guided wire.
