Come On Out To Richardson’s Cottonwood Art Festival This Weekend
Richardson’s Cottonwood Art Festival will celebrate it’s 40th birthday this weekend! You won’t want to miss out on a fabulous weekend full or art, crafts, feasting, and fun!
Cottonwood Art Festival is a bi-annual art event featuring a juried art show. 1,400 artists from across the country submitted their work for consideration in each of the competing categories. Jurors will choose over 240 artists to display their museum-quality work. Artists compete in categories such as 2D Mixed Media, 3 Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, Digital, Ceramics, Drawings, Glass, Sculpture, Wood and many more.
Besides the art competition, you can peruse vendor booths for art to feature in your own home. There will also be food, drink, and lots of live music. One of this weekend’s featured music acts is the popular Beatles tribute band, A Hard Night’s Day. Bring the kids to the ArtStop Children’s Area so they can hone their mini-Monet and pint-sized-Picasso arts and crafts skills.
The Cottonwood Art Festival is a FREE event. It will be open from 10AM to 7PM on Saturday, October 6th with live music running through 8PM; on Sunday, October 7th, the festival will be open from 10AM to 6PM. The event will be located at Cottonwood Park, 1321 W. Belt Line Road in Richardson (just one block East of Coit). There will be plenty of parking across the street at Richardson High School’s football stadium with a FREE shuttle running from 9AM to 9PM both days.
