Dallas Summer Musicals Unveils 2013 Season Full Of Blockbuster Broadway Hits
Dallas Summer Musicals has lifted the curtain to give us a peak at what to expect in the coming year, and the shows slated to come to town will blow you away!
The 2013 season kicks off with Catch Me If You Can on February 12th. The musical is based on the movie of the same name and tells the story of the teenage con artist Frank W. Abagnale Jr. Frank runs away from home and makes a glamorous life for himself using his boyish charm and a knack for forging checks. Frank is pursued by an FBI agent named Carl Hanratty, who won’t give up until he finally catches Frank.
In March, Broadway classic Mary Poppins sweeps into town for two weeks only! Everyone’s favorite British nanny is supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, and you won’t want to miss out on your chance to chime-chim-cheree with Mary, the chimney sweeps, and the children! Mary Poppins pops in March 20th and run through the 30th.
Everybody will be defying gravity in April when Wicked comes back to town! The Broadway favorite flies into Fair Park Music Hall with the story on how the Wizard of Oz’s Wicked Witch of the West became so…. wicked. Long before Dorothy drops in, you’ll see how the two witches of Oz came to be as we know them. Wicked opens April 10th and run through May 5th.
Back by popular demand to close out the 2013 season during the State Fair of Texas, the Lion King roars into Fair Park on October 2nd through the 20th. See Simba, Nala, Timon, Poomba, and all of the amazing animals of the savannah perform your favorite songs from the Disney favorite movie and Broadway musical!
