Hundreds of teachers and teacher supporters packed into the Nokia Theater in L.A. Tuesday night, August 14th, to celebrate Teachers Rock. Tonight, CBS is airing the show with performances from the likes of Garth Brooks, Josh Groban, fun. and many more.
Fans can see fun., sing their new hit “Some Nights” with a little help from the Inglewood High School Drumline and watch Josh lead the choir from the Los Angeles High School for the Arts–his alma mater–on an emotional cover of the Simon & Garfunkel classic “Bridge Over Troubled Water. Keep the tissues handy for that one.
The show also features stars like Maroon 5’s frontman Adam Levine and famed actor Morgan Freeman talking about the teachers that made a difference in their lives.
Country superstar Carrie Underwood even pays tribute to her most inspirational teacher, her mom. She even surprised the crowd with a special performance of a song from her latest album, Blown Away.
The tribute to teachers includes appearances from iCarly’s Miranda Cosgrove, The Hunger Games Josh Hutcherson, The Help’s Viola Davis and Criminal Minds profiler, Joe Mantegna.
