Today would have been famed culinary queen Julia Child’s 100th birthday. In honor of her centennial, Neiman Marcus and Les Dames d’Escoffier,an international organization of women in the culinary profession, are offering a tribute to the legendary chef with a French-inspired lunch menu with some of Child’s favorite dishes.
Executive Chef Dame Anita Hirsch has created a menu with corn chowder, French greens and chicken salad, Croque Madame, sautéed halibut, and Queen of Sheba cake, a French staple featured in Julia Child’s first cookbook.
You can enjoy this delicious tribute from August 13th through the 18th at the four North Texas locations of Neiman Marcus. No special tickets or reservations are required. You can also make a donation to Les Dames d’Escoffier Legacy Awards, which benefit women pursuing careers in food and wine and is supported by The Julia Child Foundation fordGastronomy and the Culinary Arts.
To mark Julia Child’s 100th birthday, PBS has created a remix from Child’s cooking program.
