Harper Gruzins sang the national anthem before a FC Dallas game in Frisco, and it wasn’t her finest moment. In fact, the 11-year old suffered harsh criticism and judgement across the web. However, she’s not letting one foul moment spoil her dream.
Technical difficulties and stadium reverb can be enough to trip up the best singers while performing the national anthem, but in an extraordinary turn, Harper sees a more divine purpose for what happened at the stadium that day. In a show of mature faith from such a young soul, Harper prays every night forgiveness for those who have made harsh remarks.
Harper will be coming to the studio tomorrow to visit with Gene & Julie and perform for the first time since singing the national anthem. Gene & Julie hope that with Harper’s help, we can find a way to stop bullying, both in schools, in adulthood, and online.
You can also see Harper sing this weekend in Grapevine. She’ll be a part of the Grapevine Opry’s tribute to Texas country legend George Strait on Saturday night. She’ll share the stage with other local singers as they perform renditions of George Strait’s biggest hits. Gvopry.com has more information on the performances
