Online beauty retailer Escentual.com recently surveyed 1000 men to discover their preferences regarding women and makeup. According to the Daily Mail, the poll reveals that men prefer women who wear makeup.

In fact, 73% of men said they like women who wear makeup for every occasion. It doesn’t even have to be a full face of makeup. A little foundation and mascara can give a woman a confident glow that is irresistible. Even Gwen Stefani’s husband, rocker Gavin Rossdale, is prone to agree. Stefani says that her husband loves it when she wears makeup.

The survey also found that 21% of men liked women who wore makeup for special occasions, and 6% said they preferred the fresh-faced, natural look of no makeup.

If you’re looking for a look to start with, the survey also found that the “smokey-eye” look was the favorite among the men polled.
