Chitos: Tony Zazza is a fan of Mexican food, and he says this is the best place to get street tacos. They have two locations, one in Plano on Legacy and another in Allen on Main Street. This casual place is great for families and won’t hurt the wallet. The Plano location is in an old gas station.
Pie Five: David Rancken recommends this place if you love pizza. It’s like the pizza version of Subway. You start at one end, pick your toppings, and they make your pizza for you. The pizzas are one price no matter the toppings you put on it. Locations are popping up all over town, so find your local Pie Five and give it a try.
La Playa Maya: A listener recommends La Playa Maya as the best place to get Tex-Mex in Fort Worth. She recommends the Rib-Eye Fajitas. Sounds mouth-wateringly delicious! There’s a location on Hemphill, and another La Playa Maya can be found on Sunset Drive.
Prairie House: This one is a bit of a drive, but Julie DeHarty declares the chicken fried rib-eye worth the road trip. Located on Hwy 380 just east of Denton in Crossroads, TX, the Prairie House boasts a tasty selection of BBQ, burgers, and ribs. It all sounds finger-lickin’ good!
Catfish Plantation: For good food and a haunted history, head down to Waxahachie to eat at Catfish Plantation. This place is so popular, there is always a line to get in the door, but it’s definitely worth it! Try the catfish and keep an eye out for one of the ghosts that are said to reside in the restaurant.
