Alec Kornacki went from fixing his car to near death in a matter of seconds. Kornacki’s BMW rolled on top of him after the jack slipped as he was under it doing some repairs.
The 52-year-old’s wife heard a primal scream to call 9-1-1 from their daughter’s throat. Lauren, the couples 22-year-old daughter found her dad pinned beneath his car.
“I lifted it up … kind of threw it,” she told NBC 12, “I just shoved my body into it as hard as I could, and then I came back and dragged him out and started CPR.”
Lauren an experienced life-guard was able to knock the vehicle away from her father due to it being unbalanced and missing a wheel that had been removed. Lauren preformed two sets of mouth-to-mouth before her father had a pulse and started breathing again. This just moments before the ambulance arrived.
Alec was still in the ICU with broken ribs and a few other fractures, but is able to walk around.
“I’m just so lucky and proud I have daughters that can perform CPR and have the knowledge to save lives,” Alec said in a statement.
