Time is reporting that a bullying victim from Georgia, Nadia Ilse, received free plastic surgery courtesy of the not for profit charity the Little Baby Face Foundation.
Nadia’s bullying began in the first grade, when her classmates started calling her “elephant ears.” She started asking her mother for surgery to pin her ears back at the ages of ten, but with a $40,000 price tag it was out of her families budget. That’s when an organization called Little Baby Face Foundation the teen has finally had the surgery she desperately wanted.
Ilse’s mother reached out to the organization after her daughter went through years of torment. Little Baby Face Foundation was formed in 20o2 and it offers free operations to children who have been bullied due to their physical appearance, as well as offer free corrective surgery to children born with facial deformities.
While Ilse had only applied for otoplasty, the group’s founder, Dr. Thomas Romo, III also performed a reduction rhinoplasy, and a mentoplasty. The doctor felt the additional surgeries were necessary to “balance out” the rest of Ilse’s features.
Would you give your child plastic surgery to end their bullying?
