What do you call the artist that has in the past two years:

Opened for Katy Perry on her U.S. tour?

Sang the song for the first dance of Prince William and Kate Middleton at their wedding reception?

Won two specific  British music awards in one year – the only artist other than Adele to do so?

You would call her Ellie Goulding.

The 25 year old singer/songwriter began at age 15, and has been piling up the honors over the last two years.  She became Katy Perry’s opening act after fellow Brit Jessie J hurt her foot.  She sang Elton John’s “Your Song” at the wedding reception for Prince William and Kate Middleton.  And she won the  “Sound of…” award and the Brit Awards “Critic’s Choice” award in 2010.  The only other artist to do that was Adele in 2008.

Ellie’s latest hit “Lights” has an old school feel,  is actually a hit for a second time as it climbs the charts.
