Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes‘ divorce has brought Scientology back in to the lime light. It’s no secret that Tom Cruise is highly involved in the top levels of the religion, but new light is being shed on just how he is viewed amongst other scientologists.

According to an in-depth Rolling Stone article titled “Inside Scientology,” Cruise is known as an “Operating Thetan,” or “OT” for short. OTs are said to possess an unparalleled sense of enlightenment. They also have total “control” over themselves and their surroundings. This means OTs can “allegedly move inanimate objects with their minds, leave their bodies at will, and telepathically communicate with, and control the behavior of, both animals and human beings.” Cruise is said to be a very advanced “OT VII”. At higher stages, OTs become God-like and are freed from the physical universe.
