Science Says Men Find Dumb-Looking Women More Attractive

For years a stereotype has existed that men covet the dumb blonde. Many have said it was ridiculous, but as it turns out there is some truth to that.

According to a study by Cari Goetz, human males have evolved to look for characteristics suggesting their one-night-stands aren’t very alert.

The hypothesis is based on the differences between male and female reproduce strategies as humans evolved.

Researchers set out to test the idea that any indication that a woman’s guard is lowered—that she’s “sexually exploitable”—is a turn-on for your average man. “[T]he assessment of a woman’s immediate vulnerability,” surmise the authors, “may be central to the activation of psychological mechanisms related to sexual exploitation.”

To test their hypothesis Goetz and her colleagues planned to call a bunch of undergraduate males into the lab and ask them to rate a set of women in terms of attractiveness based.

76 male participants were presented with various images of women including pictures of women licking their lips, partying, and 88 other social cues.

Pictures of dimwitted,immature-seeming or of women who looked sleepy/intoxicated, were rated more often as being easy to bed. But also, they were also perceived as being more physically attractive than female peers who seemed more lucid or quick-witted. However The women lost their appeal entirely when the men were asked to rate these same women’s attractiveness as prospective girlfriends or wives.

Men find dumb-looking women more attractive, but have no interest in entering a serious relationship with them. So ladies if you want to find yourself a husband, you might want to look somewhere other than the bar.

How could anyone think they understand the evolutionary progression of different groups without observing multiple members of those groups over time? This is all hypothesis built on their imaginations. I reject it off-hand.
