Lionel Richie just seems to have a knack for knowing what the public wants and when they want it. The former member of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]The Commodores[/lastfm] (he left the group 30 years ago) has had numerous #1 hits, platinum albums and Grammys. Now, just when he’s more likely known as “Nicole’s father,” he comes out with the album “Tuskegee,” named after the college where he and the other Commodores met and formed their long-lasting professional and personal relationships.
Lionel’s friendship with [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Kenny Rogers [/lastfm]led to the huge hit “Lady,” so it’s no surprise that the two teamed up on this album of duets with country artists. The album is #2 in the country (it spent a few weeks at #1); is already platinum (over a million sold), and his single of “Endless Love” with [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Shania Twain[/lastfm] is flying up the charts. It’s also been nominated for the 2012 CMT “Collaborative Video of the Year” award.
