Foreclosure Filings Spike Upward Nationwide

The Marks family went out for a dinner at La Fisherman in Houston last week and when they wanted to leave, they were not permitted and locked inside the restaurant.

Jasmine Marks told the Houston NBC affiliate that her family refused to pay the 17 percent tip that was added to their bill per restaurant policy. Marks claims that her family received slow service didn’t get everything they paid for and encountered rude staff. Those claims are the reason the family refused to pay the tip.

When the party went to leave the staff of the restaurant locked them in and called the police.

Marks party paid the money for the food but not the gratuity. Mark said, “I asked the police officer twice, maybe three times, is it against the law if we don’t pay the gratuity and he never gave me a straight answer.”

They eventually paid the gratuity and were allowed to leave.
