A 57-year-old woman claims three women hypnotized her inside a Chinatown store and forced her to go home and return to the hypnotists with jewelry and $160,000 in savings.
The Boston woman claims she was in a store in Boston’s Chinatown when three young women started talking to her in Chinese. In just a few minutes the women convinced the victim to return home and come back with jewelry and her life savings.
Boston police have now issued an alert to be on the look out for the scamming women. There are rumors around the area that this isn’t the only instance of a hypnotized person losing out on money. But police say most instances would go unreported because many of the victims are elderly and don’t speak much English.
