Greg Ham, the man who played the iconic flute riff on Men At Work’s “Down
Under,” and the saxophone on “Who Can It Be Now?” has passed away,
according to Australia’s

Homicide detectives are investigating his death.

Ham first joined Men At Work in 1979. The band’s biggest success came
with 1983’s Business As Usual, which hit #1 on the album charts,
and earned Men At Work the Grammy for Best New Artist. The band split up
in 1985. Ham had been working as a music teacher in recent years.

“We played in a band and conquered the world together,” Men At Work’s
frontman Colin Hay said in a statement. “I love him very much. He’s a
beautiful man. The saxophone solo on ‘Who Can It Be Now’ was the rehearsal
take. We kept it, that was the one. He’s here forever.”
