Before Adele had to leave her North American tour in support of her multi-platinum album “21″ to have vocal chord surgery, she did quite a few shows.  Most artists have a “rider” which specifies what they’d like to have available to them backstage.

Some riders are legendary.  The one that always come to mind for me is the 1982 [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Van Halen[/lastfm] rider that stipulates “ABSOLUTELY NO BROWN M&M’s”!  Buzz Feed has a Copy Of Van Halen’s Rider HERE!

Adele’s rider, in comparison, seems absolutely down to earth!  Her requests include Marlboro cigarettes, a disposable lighter, bite size chocolate bars, good red wine, cereal bars and 12 bottles of the best European lager and states: “North American Beer Is Not Acceptable”!  Hey, why not ask for what you want?

I also love the fact that if you’re getting complimentary tickets to the show you’re required to make a minimum $20 charitable donation to the UK based charity, Sands.  Sands supports people who’ve been affected by the death of a baby and also supports research to minimize those deaths.
