In a huge televised concert, the 2012 Grammy nominations were announced last night. There were surprises and snubs to be sure. [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Kanye West[/lastfm] came out on top with 7 nominations, while[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Adele[/lastfm], the [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Foo Fighters[/lastfm], and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Bruno Mars[/lastfm] aren’t too far behind with 6 nominations each.

Kanye West is definitely on top with 7 nods, but he’s sure to take some offense to not being nominated for Album of the Year. Hopefully, there won’t be any interruptions on Grammy night. Kanye is nominated twice in one catagory; he’s up for his solo album, “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy,” in Best Rap Album as well as his work with [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Jay-Z[/lastfm] on “Watch The Throne.”

Kanye famously interrupted [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Taylor Swift[/lastfm] during her acceptance speech for Best Female Video at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Taylor got the snub for Album of the Year as well.

Adele is queen of the nominations this year with 6 nods, including the big 3 (Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year). The soulful chanteuse snagged more nominations than the other ladies. [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Lady Gaga[/lastfm] grabbed 3 nominations. She’s up for Album of the Year, but Gaga got gagged on Song of the Year.

You’ve never heard of the them and there’s a good chance you have no clue what Dub Step is, but up for 6 nominations is a guy who goes by the name[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Skrillex[/lastfm]. The electronic music artist is up for Best New Artist.
