This year’s 17th annual Dallas Farmers Market Friends Hoedown will be a very special celebration. Not only will the annual fundraiser celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dallas Farmers Market, it will also honor the memory of a special friend of the farmers market, “Mama Ida” Papert.
“Mama Ida” started visiting the farmers market in 1953 as a young bride, new to town. She came every Saturday to buy her produce from vendors who she came to know personally over the years. She was one of the founders of the Dallas Farmers Market Friends.
Come out and sample some fantastic food and wine from over 30 local vendors! The hoedown will be held at Fair Park Thursday night from 6:30 to 9:30. Tickets are $40 for members of the Dallas Farmers Market Friends and $50 for non-members. There are also group rates available.
