Monroe & Moroccan, meet the world! Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon debuted their 6 month old twins on ABC’s 20/20 over the weekend. The couple chatted with Barbara Walters about “Dem Babies” and the difficulties Mariah faced during her pregnancy.
During Barbara’s visit to the nursery, she got to hold one of the twins while Mariah serenaded them with “We Belong Together.”
Of course, in keeping with the tradition of Barbara Walters’ interviews, there were tears. Mariah talked about difficulties with infertility and miscarriages. She also discussed the strain she faced while carrying the twins. Gestational diabetes, a risk for seizures, false labor pains, and a number of trips to the hospital.
“I don’t think I understood the enormity and the magnitude of what it really does to your body,” Mariah said. “Carrying two babies. Unless somebody’s been through it, it’s difficult to understand what I went through, because my pregnancy was very unique in terms of what happened to me.”
The Mariah and Nick have set up a website with an adorable slideshow of pictures of the twins that the couple has nicknamed “Dem Babies.” You can have a look at Monroe and Moroccan by visiting www.dembabies.com.
