The Rangers offense has been no where near its regular season or previous playoff performance in the World Series but it didn’t have to be in Game 2. Ian Kinsler and Elvis Andrus scored on sacrifice flies in the top of the 9th inning to take a 2-1 and were able to hold off the St. Louis Cardinals to even the World Series at one game a piece.
Kinsler led off the ninth inning, with the Rangers down a run, with a single. He stole second and Andrus moved him a third on a single. Andrus advanced to second after the single when the throw in went awry. Josh Hamilton and Michael Young drove in the two runners on consecutive deep fly balls.
Neftali Feliz walked the first batter of the ninth inning then retired the next three batters to earn the save.
The win ties the series at 1 win for each team as the series comes to Arlington for games 3 through 5 Saturday, Sunday & Monday.
