The Red River Rivalry is a huge part of the State Fair of Texas each year. As fans from Oklahoma and Austin stream their way into town for the big game this weekend, there are a ton of happenings and parties around town. Don’t have any plans or any tickets for the game? No problem!

For the Texas fans, the Dallas Texas Exes are hosting a pre-game pep rally at the University Co-Op at 7700 W. Northwest Highway today from 12:30 to 3pm. The Texas Longhorn Band will be there at 12:45, and Bevo will be there at 1:30. Admission is free.

Dallas Texas Exes will also have a Bash Before the Clash at Primo’s in Uptown starting at 6pm tonight. Admission is free, under 21 are welcome until 10:30pm. Email Austin Arnold at austinaarnold@yahoo.com for more information.

For OU fans, there is the Friday Night Beat Texas Party at the Hilton Lincoln Centre Ballroom at 8pm. Admission is $30, $25 for OU Club of Dallas members. You can get your tickets at www.ouclubofdallas.com.

If you’re looking to mix and mingle with fans of both teams (Play nice!), head down to the Texas-OU Revival West End Outdoor Concert at Zouk. They will have some of the best country rock bands around, such as the JC AllStar Runway Rock Show. Concert runs from 6pm to 11pm, and there will be an after party inside Zouk. Admission is $10, and you can buy your tickets at txou.eventbrite.com.

The Ghostbar, that swanky lounge atop the W Dallas in Victory Park, will host the TX/OU Weekend party featuring DJ Benzi tonight. Tickets are $20 and available at fla.vor.us.

If you find yourself without tickets on Game Day, have no fear! You can bring your lawn chairs to Victory Park and watch the game on the mega screens in the Plaza. Admission is free. The Plaza will open at 9am, and the game starts at 11am. Leave your coolers at home, though. No coolers will be allowed in the Plaza, however, food and concessions will be available for purchase.

Check out the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram for more great events this weekend.
