Add Adele to the list of singers crooning songs to open a 007 movie.  Gibson.com reports the British singing star is,  “working on the theme tune for the next James Bond movie,” which has a working title of Bond 23.  U.K. newspaper The Sun quotes an unnamed source who says, “Adele is the obvious choice to record the next Bond theme. The last few songs for the spy movies have hardly set the charts alight. After her success this year filmmakers know the song is almost guaranteed to be a huge hit.”

Artists who have sung a Bond movie theme include Garbage, Duran Duran, Shirley Bassey, Paul McCartney and Wings, Alicia Keys, Madonna, Tina Turner and Carly Simon.  Although the title has yet to be revealed, Bond 23, starring Daniel Craig as British super spy James Bond, is set to hit the big screen  in 2012.
