Facebook News Feed Changes Have Many Fed Up

Facebook is at it again. Recent changes to the news feed page have many users up in arms and ready to jump ship. There are some who are happy with the changes, but many users are annoyed as items have been moved around and do not like the news ticker in the corner.

Some users are saying the new changes are information overload. There are now so many places to look to see what your friends are doing. The already cluttered interface becoming more so with new additions and floating boxes. There are top stories, recent stories, and a floating news ticker that shows you in real time what your friends are saying, commenting, and liking and stays with you as you scroll down the page.

It’s supposed to act like the front page of a newspaper. The headlines on a newspaper show you the most important stories, and Facebook is aiming to do the same.

This is only the beginning. More changes will roll out this week during Facebook’s annual conference, F8, which starts today. Many of these changes will be in conjunction with recent partnerships forged with Spotify, MOG, and Rdio.

As these changes roll out, Facebook could possibly lose some of their alienated users to Google+, which is now open to the public, no invitation required any more.

Here is a video from Facebook explaining the changes, also, Gene & Julie talked to Cynthia Smoot of Gangway Advertising who explained the new changes on this morning’s show.
