No, really. In a an interview for the September issue of Out magazine Levine discussed his sexuality as a part of the job requirement, “If people didn’t think there was a small chance I was gay, then I wouldn’t be doing my job very well,” the [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Maroon 5[/lastfm] rocker, 32, told the magazine. “I wouldn’t be the front man of a band if that question hadn’t come up at some point.”
Levine, who is currently dating model Anne Vyalitsyna, continued on to say that he has no problem appreciating attractive men, because he is comfortable in his sexuality, “So I can think, ‘Oh, that’s a good-looking dude.’ Acknowledging that someone’s attractive and wanting to [sleep with them] are two different things.”
Levine then went on to bash American Idol for their policy to downplay contestant sexual orientation, citing [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Adam Lambert[/lastfm]‘s very in-the-closet persona on the show, “What’s always pissed me off about Idol is wanting to mask [a person's sexuality],” Levine says. “C’mon, you can’t be publicly gay? At this point? On a singing competition? Give me a break. You can’t hide basic components of these peoples’ lives.”
And that’s why [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Adam Levine[/lastfm] likes his show The Voice better, and why he may be appreciating your masculine beauty in a strictly platonic sort of way.
