A duet that Amy Winehouse recorded with Tony Bennett shortly before her death will be released and proceeds will go to support charities helping people dealing with addiction.
A duet by Tony Bennett and Amy Winehouse will be released to raise money to help young people fight addictions. Winehouse left a lot of recorded material that will be released in the future but the jazz classic track ‘Body & Soul’ that she recorded with Bennett is scheduled to be the first record her fans will hear since she died. The pair recorded the track at London’s Abbey Road Studios in March. It was one of Winehouse’s last recordings. It will be released ahead of Bennett’s Duets II album, out on September 20th.
Bennett told MTV: “What’s going to happen is that we’re putting that [Body & Soul] out ahead of the album. And it’s going to a foundation that her father started – to teach all the young children not to take drugs, and all the royalties of the record will go to that.”
