Recently Traci quit her job to become a teacher.  Since this time her boyfriend has become violent and has begun to throw and hit things. Traci has become scared of him. She has also lost her love for him. He talks of marriage and changing his ways. What should she do?

    RUN, don’t walk. Do not marry this man. Four years is way too long to put up with someone like this (even if it is “new” behavior). Is he a child throwing things and acting like that?

    If he was going to change, he’d do it and not talk about it. From experience, I can tell her that there are men out there that will act and treat her with respect, there is also nothing wrong with being single. She and her son deserve more than how he is treating her.

    The only thing worse than being in a bad relationship for a year (or more) is being in a bad relationship for a year and a day.
