Two days after Anthony Weiner admitted to sending a lewd photo of himself and engaging in online relationships with several women, the New York Times is reporting his wife is pregnant with their first child.

Weiner’s wife, Huma Abedin, is in the early stages of pregnancy, according to the Times, and has not been seen since the scandal broke. Weiner emotionally told reporters Monday that he and Abedin, an aide to Hillary Rodham Clinton, had no plans to split. “We will weather this,” he said. “I love her very much, and she loves me.” Now, a growing number of House Democrats are making it clear that they want their Weiner problem to go away. Pennsylvania’s Allyson Schwartz, an ally of Nancy Pelosi, was the first to openly call for his resignation, and she was soon followed by others, reports the New York Times. “Having the respect of your constituents is fundamental for a member of Congress,” said Schwartz. “In light of Anthony Weiner’s offensive behavior online, he should resign.”
