Following the paths of fellow high-power women Katie Couric and Oprah Winfrey, Meredith Viera is stepping down from her anchoring duties. Instead of moving on the next big thing, Viera plans to use her newfound “free” time to spend with her husband (who suffers from multiple sclerosis) and children.
Matt Lauer will outlast yet another female co-host, as Ann Curry (who has been with the show for over 15 years) is set to be Viera’s successor.
