Oscar-winning actor Nicolas Cage has been arrested in New Orleans after a drunken argument with his wife outside a residence in the French Quarter.
Nicholas Cage was arrested in New Orleans after a loud and drunken argument with his wife-and then police, over the weekend. Cage and his wife began arguing on the sidewalk in front of a home in the French Quarter. He insisted it was the home they were renting, and she disagreed. Things got loud, and Cage began hitting cars. He also reportedly grabbed his wife’s arm and tried to get into a taxi. Police arrived, and Cage, ever so wisely, began yelling at them. “Why don’t you just arrest me?” he shouted, according to TMZ sources who described him as “very drunk.” So arrest him they did. He is charged with domestic abuse battery, disturbing the peace, and public drunkenness. It looks like he also spent the night in jail before being released on $11,000 bond.Reality star Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman posted the bond. “I am a truly dedicated fan of Mr. Cage and will not be granting any interviews about my client as I wish to respect his privacy,” Chapman said in a statement. “I performed my duties as a bail bondsman and not in connection with our show. This is what I do for a living. There are two sides of my job: I release my clients after they have been arrested; and pick them up if they don’t show up in court. I do not believe the latter will be the case for Mr. Cage.” Cage is scheduled to appear in court May 31.
