Getting the girl has never been easy.

That damn Coke bottle always spun past her during a game of spin the bottle or she was too busy searching for the perfect matching head band to wear.

But then Hall and Oates came along with “Kiss On My List”.

On April 11th, 1981, Kiss On My List reached number one on the charts and the backseat of dad’s Cadillac was seeing the action it was intended to.

Off of their ninth studio album, Voices, Kiss On My List” became one of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Hall and Oates[/lastfm]’ most popular tracks ever.

The song was released on January 24th and made a slow climb to the top of the Billboard Singles Charts and called the number one spot home for three consecutive weeks.

“Kiss On My List” was their second single to reach number one, with Rich Girl” doing so in 1977.

The track would make [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Hall and Oates[/lastfm] a mainstay on the pop music scene for the rest of the decade and we can be pretty sure it got a few guys to second base, too!
