Johnny Depp Is A Lizard In New Gore Verbinski Film, “Rango”
Johnny Depp, Isla Fisher and Abigail Breslin literally get animated in the upcoming film, Rango, directed by Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean). “It’s certainly like nothing I’ve ever done before, or any of us have ever done before [pullquote quote="It's certainly like nothing I've ever done before, or any of us have ever done before" credit="Johnny Depp"],” Johnny responds when asked about the films unique production style. “We all felt perfectly stupid, but it was exactly what we needed to do,” he further explains.
Instead of going into a sound booth to record the voices of the characters, Johnny Depp describes it as a kind of emotion capture, using the actors as an actual reference for the animation. Watch the interview below for a more “in depp” understanding of what he’s talking about.
Isla Fisher plays the character “Beans,” Rango’s love interest. She not only shares her experience with working on this unique style of animation, but also reveals that there’s something in Rango for everyone.
Abigail Breslin describes her “Priscilla” character as a “Madeline meets Emily The Strange.” She’s not cute. In fact she’s a morbid, tough little mouse. In this interview she tells us what attracted her to the project and also shares with us how she greets Rango. Let’s just it’s not your typical way of saying “hi.”
