Yesterday we told you about a tinge of jealousy coming from American Idol judge [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Jennifer Lopez[/lastfm] toward fellow judge [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Steven Tyler[/lastfm].
And if the sudden boost in digital sales of a certain [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Aerosmith[/lastfm] song are any indication, she has plenty of reason to be envious.
Billboard.com is reporting that after Tyler’s impromptu duet of I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing with Idol contestant Lauren Alaina, digital downloads of the Aerosmith tune (which was originally featured in the movie Armageddon) spiked by 363% according to Nielsen SoundScan.
It enters the Billboard’s Digital Songs chart at #54.
The Idol boost of Aerosmith songs in the download realm is also apparent in other of their tunes which have been featured on the show and then enjoyed download success.
While I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing is at #7 on the Rock Digital Songs chart, Dream On comes in at #11 and Sweet Emotion comes in at #50.
