Professional organizer Debbie Monahan of Organizing 101 has tips on organizing your kids’ things.
Organizing for kids:
- Put things in things; keep play-doh in a box, puzzles in another, and Barbie dolls in another. Also, only let them play with 2 boxes at a time to keep clean-up fast and simple.
- Label dresser drawers according to what is inside. Kids not only learn where things go, but they may also learn to spell in the process.
- Look at what your kids have before a birthday party. If they have a lot of toys, put a note on the invitation asking that gifts not be toys, but give their sizes and ask for clothes.
