Kelly Ripa, co-host on LIVE!, went on to praise Philbin saying “it has been a pleasure and a privilege and a dream come true,” in reference to her work with Philbin, wishing she could change his mind.

This will be my last year on this show, said Regis Philbin Tuesday morning on “Live! with Regis and Kelly.” It’s been a long time, it’s been 28 years since I’ve been here. And it was the biggest thrill of my life.
