Arctic Monkeys are joining the list of acts bringing out albums in 2011, and they’re keeping busy: this will be their fourth album in five years.

With fans spoilt for material from the UK rockers, are new tracks guaranteed to go down well? Last.fm Trends looks at the band’s scrobbling history to find out.

Eight tracks are from debut Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not, with the remaining two from sophomore album Favourite Worst Nightmare.

arcticmonkeystrend Last.fm Trends: Arctic Monkeys Come in From the Cold“Crying Lightning”, the most popular track from latest album Humbug, has a total of 2,221,060 scrobbles from 203,228 listeners – which can’t compare to most of their debut; “I Bet You Look On The Dancefloor” boasts 5,249,113 plays so far.

With Humbug released just a year after side project The Last Shadow Puppets‘ album, it may be that the relative silence preceding this release will ignite fans’ passions.
