What’s New On The Oasis: The Rippingtons

the rippingtons Whats New On The Oasis: The Rippingtons

There’s new music afoot on The Oasis this week in the form of a new track from guitarist Russ Freeman and his band The Rippingtons called “Riviera Jam”.

The new song comes from The Rippingtons’ upcoming CD “Cote d’Azur”, which comes out on February 1st.  Each CD by Russ Freeman & The Rippingtons has been a travelogue of places that have left a mark on Freeman in some way.  This time out, it’s the French Riviera and the particular region of Cote d’Azur which inspired the title of the new CD and also the new single “Riviera Jam”.

Freeman formed The Rippingtons in 1987 and has been the one constant member of the band since its inception.  Smooth Jazz heavyweights such as [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Kenny G[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Dave Koz[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]David Benoit[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Gregg Karukas [/lastfm]have at one point or another passed through the ranks of The Rippingtons.
