Earlier today [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Justin Timberlake[/lastfm] spoke out against rumors that a newly leaked track belonged to him.

The track was actually recorded by Denmark’s [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Rasmus Thude[/lastfm].

“Various media outlets recently reported that a song called ‘Take You Down’ is a new track from Justin Timberlake. These reports are untrue,” the singer’s rep said in a statement to MTV News. “Justin has no involvement with either the song or the artist but wants to assure his fans that when he releases new music, they will be the first to know.”

In the past year JT has moved away from music and into film. In a recent interview with the L.A. Times, he explains that he is simply waiting for the right project to come along.

“I want to conceptualize something a little bit more. And it’s probably because of the experience I’m having working with directors and screenwriters and getting to play cool characters. If that means I come up with, like, my version of ‘Ziggy Stardust,’ so be it,” he says.
