TV’s new phenomenon [lastfm]Glee [/lastfm] has surpassed music’s phenomenon [lastfm]The Beatles [/lastfm] for the most appearances in the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart by a non-solo act.

Songs from the show are released digitally after each episode is broadcast. [lastfm]Paul McCartney[/lastfm], [lastfm]John Lennon[/lastfm], [lastfm]George Harrison[/lastfm], and [lastfm]Rigno Starr [/lastfm] had a total of 71 entries together, but the six new songs this week brings the Glee cast’s total to 75 chart entries.

Currently only [lastfm]Elvis Presley [/lastfm] with 108 entries, and [lastfm]James Brown [/lastfm] with 91 entries, have scored more US hits. If [lastfm]Glee [/lastfm] continues to be successful, they will pass Elvis and James Brown soon!
