EARLY DETECTION: THE IMPORTANCE OF FINDING BREAST CANCER EARLY
The goal of screening exams for early breast cancer detection is to find cancers before they start to cause symptoms. Most doctors feel that early detection tests for breast cancer save many thousands of lives each year, and that many more lives could be saved if even more women and their health care providers took advantage of these tests. Following the American Cancer Society’s guidelines for the early detection of breast cancer improves the chances that breast cancer can be diagnosed at an early stage and treated successfully. Early detection saves lives. Click here to learn more!
SEVEN STEPS TO STOMP OUT BREAST CANCER
1. Check Yourself. Perform monthly breast self-exams. Report any changes to your doctor and schedule annual exams.
2. Be active. Bike Ride. Surf. Skate. Dance. Yoga. Do what you love!
3. Eat your greens. Fruits and veggies that contain high fiber, antioxidants and other nutrients help fight disease. Go organic!
4. Live Green. Ride your bike, use eco-friendly products. A healthier earth is a healthier you.
5. Don’t smoke. Quit if you do!
6. Limit alcohol intake. Who wants a hangover anyway?
7. Love yourself. Balance. Have a positive attitude. Be good to yourself.
And remember … Early detection + active lifestyle = prevention
