Happy 90210 Day!
Ahhh… remember the good old days when 90210 was THE show to watch.
Remember when Dylan and Kelly hooked up while Brenda was in Paris with Donna?
For those of you who are too young to remember, Donna Martin, played by Tori Spelling was a virgin and dated David Silver, Brendon and Brenda were twins and Steve Sanders crushed on Kelly Taylor. Beverly Hills, 90210 made us live for Thursday nights.
The original premise of the show was based on the adjustment and culture shock that twins Brandon (played by Jason Priestley) and Brenda Walsh (played by Shannen Doherty) experienced when they and their parents, Jim (played by James Eckhouse) and Cindy (played by Carol Potter) moved from Minneapolis, Minnesota to Beverly Hills.
In addition to chronicling the friendships and romantic relationships of a group of close-knit teenagers, the show also addressed numerous topical issues including date rape, alcoholism, domestic violence, gay rights, gay parenting, drug abuse, teenage suicide, AIDS, teenage pregnancy, bulimia and abortion.[pullquote quote=”If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck” credit=”- Brenda Walsh”]
TVSquad has cherry-picked a crucial scene in which Brenda lays down that infamous “If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck” line when she catches Kelly with Dylan, while PopEater has spotted a few stars who were on the show before they were famous, including David Arquette and Jessica Alba.
Now someone just needs to figure out what day we can appropriately deem, “International Saved by the Bell” day.
