Reports flew around over the weekend that celebutard [lastfm]Paris Hilton[/lastfm] was arrested in South Africa on Friday, on drug related charges. But of course, there’s more to the story…

Apparently some South African news services claimed that Ms. Hilton was caught smoking pot while attending the Brazil vs. Netherlands World Cup match. TMZ has a different story though, reporting that Paris was detained by police because someone in her entourage was caught blazin’.

Either way, I’m sure Paris is innocent as always. Neither Paris nor her reps have commented on the arrest reports yet, but Paris did send out this tweet:

“South Africa is such a beautiful place. Loves it!”

Oh wait, more to the point:

“What a fabulous day! Great game! Now back to the hotel for a nap and massage before dinner. “

Update: Paris Has Been Cleared of Charges…

I was assisting the police with the investigation and answering their questions. Everyone was super nice and friendly to me. I love South Africa!
