Time to slowdown for the lowdown…
If it doesn’t work the first time, let’s give it another shot. Simon Cowell wants to put together a “World’s Got Talent” show next year with the winners of 20 competitions from around the globe, like Britain’s Got Talent or America’s Got Talent. Cowell and Piers Morgan would be among the judges. Now, the train wreck to this would be something called, “World Idol” that Simon tried back in 2004, using Idols from all over the world. It did NOT work. Kelly Clarkson represented the USA, and she didn’t come close to winning. At the time he said, “I didn’t see the point. You’re making 10 winners losers.” Wonder what’s different with the “Got Talent” thing
Sunday night TLC specials drew huge ratings. PerezHilton.com reports that the night’s first episode, which focused on the Gosselin kids, brought in 3.4 million viewers. The second, Inside Kate’s World, brought in 3 million. The site noted that the shows earned double-digit ratings and delivery gains over the November 2009 airings of Jon and Kate Plus 8.
Don’t hold your breath waiting for Destiny’s Child to get back together any time soon. BEYONCE’s dad and manager MATHEW KNOWLES is throwing out those reports that Beyonce, Kelly and Michelle miss each other and will get together again for another CD and tour. He insists they’re all busy with solo careers and there will be no reformation. He says, “Contrary to rumors online of a Destiny’s Child reunion, there are no plans for the group to reunite for a performance or album. The rumours are false.”
