Get used to collecting awards

Not only have they continued to pile up Grammy Awards, but now they’ve been nominated for 7 ACM (Academy of Country Music) awards.  That’s more than [lastfm]Carrie Underwood[/lastfm], [lastfm]Taylor Swift[/lastfm], [lastfm]Kenny Chesney[/lastfm] – you name it.

On top of that their music has fully crossed-over to the pop music world, making them more mass-appeal than ever.  And there are lots of reasons why they’re doing so well. 

Let’s start with the pedigree – Hillary Scott’s mother is Linda Davis, a country singer/songwriter and a member of the Grand Ole Opry. 

Charles Kelley’s brother is [lastfm]Josh Kelley[/lastfm], a successful pop star.  Add in the harmonies and guitar of Dave Haywood and you’ve got a formula for success. 

They’re on tour now and the first time you hear the song “Need You Now” it will be in your head for days.
